Frequently Asked Questions

What do you want to do when you grow up?

Since I was 8 years old, I cannot count the number of times I've been asked this question. I never knew the answer, and I’m still not sure. These days, people are defined by what they "want to do.” I’d rather answer the question, “who and how do you want to be.” I don’t want my success to be based on how much money I make or what field I work in. While those are important in one’s life, I’d rather my success be based on who I am and what I bring to the world.

I don’t know what I want to do when I grow up. For now, I want to explore my interests: psychology, art, writing, and also venture outside of my interests to explore what else the world has to offer. I do know who I want to be: the most interesting person I can. Brave. Open. Capable. Adventurous. Ready to try new things. Creative with my life.

Will you graduate high school? Will you go to college?

I graduated high school in 2021 and am currently a student at a small college in New York.

And your mom is okay with your trailblazing?

She's all for it. She agrees completely with me and wants to see me grow in ways that traditional high school wouldn’t let me. She trusts that I will make my education and the rest of my life the best it can be, and for that I’m very lucky.
